In response to wrongful dismissals at Frigocerro

This morning, Thursday, August 4, the trade unions gathered in the Federation of Meat Industry Workers (FOICA) staged a demonstration in the city of Durazno, where the Frigocerro plant is located.

Having exhausted all instances of negotiation with the company without reaching an agreement, the labor federation called an industry-wide general work stoppage to protest the wrongful and arbitrary dismissal last week of two workers members of the Frigocerro workers’ union.

Rel UITA (IUF Latin America) traveled to Durazno to accompany workers who came from different parts of the country to demonstrate.
