Rel UITA (IUF Latin America) informs its affiliates that from here on our information, analyses, news, and opinions will no longer be posted on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter), as we have decided to abandon that space due to our profound ethical, political, and philosophical differences with its orientation.

These differences are further compounded by the fact that its owner and leading figure, the super-rich, far-right businessman Elon Musk, actively participated in the campaign that elected the president of the United States, Donald Trump, donating 260 million dollars and in that way securing a spot for himself in the current U.S. government, which, among other atrocities, intends to expel millions of Latino workers and their families.

Other “tech oligarchs,” such as Mark Zuckerberg¹, Sundar Pichai², and Jeff Bezos³, also attended Trump’s inauguration ceremony, thus endorsing his attacks on social organizations, his xenophobia, and his oligarchic policies.

Numerous social organizations from around the world, as well as reputable independent international media outlets, have abandoned X and joined the social media service Bluesky, which, unlike previous platforms, has maintained active filters in place against fake news, hate speech, and other forms of expression that promote violence.
