The Costa Rican trade unions SINTRAPYBCR, SITRACHIRI, and SINTRACOBAL* have filed a complaint with the Ministry of Labor against the multinational corporation Chiquita Brands and its subsidiaries in Costa Rica.

“We denounce that the company uses temporary contracts for permanent positions as part of a union-busting strategy. This practice creates precarious working conditions, limiting the workers’ access to fundamental rights, such as labor stability, unemployment benefits, and social protection,” union representatives state in the following audio.
