40 jobs at risk

The Federation of Tobacco Workers of the Republic of Argentina (FTTRA) reports veiled layoffs at British American Tobacco (BAT)

The company (formerly Nobleza Piccardo) decided unilaterally to begin outsourcing activities, laying of workers assigned to cigarette dispatching tasks at the plant located in the town of Martínez, Province of Buenos Aires.

These tasks, which were previously performed by workers who were members of the tobacco union, are now carried out by transportation workers, a situation that raises even more suspicions as to the intentions of the tobacco company’s management in Argentina.
